Dearborn Historical Museum, Commandant’s Quarters
Get to know Dearborn at your own pace.
The Dearborn Historical Museum offers self-guided walking/biking/driving tours of the city’s east and west sides.
Download the guide for detailed instructions and discover the multiple storylines of Dearborn’s history, including Henry Ford’s dominant presence and the city’s rich military history.
Although the tours are designed to begin and end at the Dearborn Historical Museum’s campus at Michigan Avenue and Brady Street, both the east and west tours are basically circular, so you can begin anywhere along the routes.
According to the museum, a number of the structures described in these self-guided tours are no longer standing, but many of the sites are represented by state historical markers or Motorcities wayside exhibits, as well as by other markers.
